Are you liscenced?
I am paused in my licensing pursuit as a Marriage and Family Therapist due to moving across state lines and becoming a new mother.
are you trauma informed?
We focused a great deal in my masters program on trauma. I do my best to be mindful of each individual story and experience. Using language that is caring and sensitive to your particular journey. As trauma is so delicate and unique to each individual I do my best to learn and be mindful.
How long do clients typically work with you?
My goal is to have you seeing changes by 6 weeks/calls. Most client contracts are 3-6 months. Most clients decide to extend or continue working with for additional months or occasional ‘tune-up' calls.
Is this the same as life coaching?
My approach combines the style and solution-focused nature of life coaching, with the research and foundation of psychology and the practices of Marriage and Family Therapy. I marry the two if you will.
Is this the same as therapy?
While traditional therapy can spend extended periods of time and extensive exploration of current and past experiences/trauma/wounds, by combining my style with a solution-focuse lense, I am able to foster an experience where you explore these areas without fully or continually festering in the hurt. We focus on breaking patterns and finding strengths to build upon. Giving way to faster results. Also see previous question regarding life coaching.
Do we have to have weekly calls?
Not necessarily. I encourage weekly or biweekly calls to keep momentum and healing flowing. However not all situations or finances are permitting of that and I make space for this in each individual contract. Depending on what you are wanting to work on, frequency of sessions can vary for optimal growth. as some areas require more consistent healing, practice and growth. I approach every client contract with a blank slate, tailoring my approach to your needs.
